Your experience begins in Antigua, then you explore the colourful Sunday markets of Chichicastenango before transferring to Quetzaltenango for your Community Development project – you will spend 5 mornings planting seedlings to help restore forests that have been logged out, or building a house for a family with Common Hope, a charity that partners with children, families, and communities to develop and improve their lives through education, health care, and housing. After this 5 fulfilling days, you explore Panajachel on Lake Atitlan, and spend a day on a private boat cruising the lake and its picturesque villages around the lake edge. You return to Antigua in time for a volcano hike; explore Rio Dulce and take a beautiful boat ride to Livingston on Guatemala’s Caribbean coast. The charming town of Flores is your next stop, with its pastel coloured buildings, overlooking Lake Peten Itza. After a relaxing day here, we follow up with a magical day at the renowned Tikal ruins of the ancient Mayans. Your adventure ends with a flight back to Antigua/Guatemala City.
