| Address book help |
You can add the member to your address book by clicking on ‘Add This Member To My Address Book’ a small window will open in the top left of you screen saying the member has been added click on the ‘Close’ button.
To get to your address book you can either click on the icon in the orange menu bar or click on the ‘My Address Book’ link under the ‘My C2T’ tab at the top of the page, alternatively you can view a small version of your address book at your ‘My C2T’ page.
Once you have navigated to your address book you will find there are two sections, address book list and member details. The address book list, is a list of all the members you have added to your address book when you click on one of the members names you have in your address book there details will appear in the member details section. If you have not yet added any members to your address book the page will say ‘Sorry There Are Currently No C2T Members in your Address Book’ below this is the link ‘Add Members to Your Address Book’, click on it. A window called ‘address book add’ will open which contains a list of every member, if you now the name of the member you are looking for, write it in search box and click on search, this will find any member with the name you entered. Once you have found a member which you would like to add to your address book click on the ‘Add’ button next to there name, a small window will open in the top left of you screen saying the member has been added click on the ‘Close’ button. You may then carry on adding more members to your address book, when you have finished adding members close the ‘address book add’ window either by clicking on ‘Close This Window’ or the cross in the top right corner of the window. Your address book page will now display the members whom you have added. |

| Chat room help |
Chat Room
This facility enables you to ‘chat’ to other potential companions in a secure live online chatroom. Please note, instant messaging is only available to full members.
– to view the information entered by a member in their Settings, highlight (click on) their name and then click the ‘information button’ at the top of the 'Users Tab' to get their profile.
– use this button to have a private conversation with another member that won’t be visible to anyone else. Just highlight (click on) their name and click the ‘private user button’ at the top of the 'Users Tab' and type away.
– to flag messages from another member. Highlight (click on) their name and then click the ‘flag message button’ at the top of the 'Users Tab' 
– did you know you can block messages from annoying members? Just highlight (click on) the name of the annoying member and click the ‘ignore user button’ at the top of the ‘Users Tab’ 
Create a room – use the ‘create button’ on the Users Tab to create a new room. A box will pop up containing fields to fill in with the details of the new room you want to create. Once you have filled in your details click on OK and away you go.
Enter a room – to enter a room highlight (click on) it in the Rooms Tab and then click on the ‘enter button’ or double click the room you want to be in.
Logout – click this button to end the chat session and log out of the Chat room.
Send message – type your message in the Message Box and click on ‘send message’ or hit the Enter/Return key on your computer, to send it to all the members in the chat room. - To reply to a specific member simply type a message in |

| Companions 2 Travel Membership |
Membership Types
There are two options available to you when joining Companions 2 Travel:
- Trial Membership
- Full Membership
Trial Membership is free and because of this you have access to many but not all services on the site that full membership provides. You can sign up as a trial member to give you a good idea of what the service can offer you. If you like what you see you can then upgrade your to full membership and utilise all the facilities available on the site. For a full list of differnences between the Trail and Full memberships, please view the Join Now page.
Full Membership gives you access to the whole site including many areas that trial members cannot access. Full membership must be renewed every year, payments are only taken by credit or debit card on a secure server.
How to Join
Once you have decided on the membership type that is right for you, click on the applicable ‘join now’ button. This takes you to the membership sign up page, comprising a form in which you are required to fill out all required fields.
This is necessary due to the nature of the site, as the automatic companion & travel match systems use the information provided by you to find your like minded Companions 2 Travel.
If you are signing up as a full member, once you have completed this form and click on ‘Sign up for full membership now’ you will be taken to the payment page, payments are only taken by credit or debit card on a secure server. Once you have paid a confirmation page will open.
If you are signing up as a trial member, once you have completed this form and click on ‘Sign up for trial membership now’ a confirmation page will open. The confirmation page will display your chosen username and password; you need to remember these as you will use them to access the member areas of the site. Click on the ‘Click here to enter the member's area’ link. This will take you to the sign in page. After you have signed in you can start using the Companions 2 Travel service immediately. |

| E-MAIL ACTIVATION |
TO ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT
- after filling in all relevant join up details on the site, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail.
- when you receive the confirmation e-mail which also contains your username and password, the first thing to do is save it or print out the details (and put them safe) for future use.
- in order to ensure your security, you will not be able to use your membership until you have activated your account. This is done by clicking on the big orange and grey flashing button which asks you to ‘click on it to activate my membership now’.
- you will then be taken to a page that is titled ‘Trial membership activation’ where it will inform you that your account is activated and ask you to follow a link to sign in to the site.
- to sign in to the site you can either follow this link or click on the ‘My C2T’ tab at the top of the page. Your username and password can be found on your confirmation e-mail.

| Events help |
View forthcoming events that you and a potential companion may like to visit. To search the listed events, type in what you would like to find into the search box located in the top right corner of the page then click ‘search’. If you are hosting an event click on the ‘Add Your Event’ button located below the event listing. A page with a form will load, fill the form out and click on ‘Add Event’ one of our administrators will check the event and then put it live on the site. |

| Hints and tips help |
You will find hundreds of hints & tips here all related to holidays / travelling. Each hint & tip contains a handy gem of knowledge that could be relevant to your travels. Use the search facility to find specific hints & tips, type in your chosen search criteria into the provided search box located in the top right corner of the page then click ‘search’.
Alternatively you may view the hints & tips by category. There are two lines of categories available, in order to view the hints & tips related to the category click on the icon. If you would like to add your own hint & tip please feel free. Click the ‘Add your hint & tip’ button located below the hint & tip listing. A page with a form will load, fill the form out and click on ‘Add Hint or Tip’ one of our administrators will check the hint & tip and then put it live on the site. |

| Holiday Match Help |
Your step by step guide to getting yourself started.
1) On your My Profile page scroll to the bottom of the page and click ADD NEW next to My Preferred Destinations, Holidays and Activities
2) Enter a name for the holiday eg: Holiday 1 / Trekking in Nepal anything you like!
3) You do not have to specify dates if you are unsure of your date of travel
4) You do not have to specify start or return location if you do not have a preference
5) Click Add new Holiday
6) ADD YOUR DESTINATION – YOU MUST ENTER AT LEAST 1 DESTINATION FOR OUR MATCHING SYSTEM TO WORK. Select your destination(s) from the drop down boxes. You can select Whole World if you want to go skydiving (for example!) but don’t mind which country you throw yourself out of a plane over!!
7) ADD YOUR ACTIVITIES - YOU MUST ENTER AT LEAST 1 ACTIVITY PER HOLIDAY FOR OUR MATCHING SYSTEM TO WORK Select the activities you are looking for from the drop down box. Keep adding until you are happy with your list. PLEASE NOTE: We automatically add an activity of 'Any' for you.
8) ADD YOUR ACCOMMODATION TYPES - YOU MUST ENTER AT LEAST 1 ACCOMMODATION TYPE PER HOLIDAY FOR OUR MATCHING SYSTEM TO WORK Select the accommodation types you are happy with from the drop down box. Keep adding until you are happy with your list. PLEASE NOTE: We automatically add an accommodation type of 'Any' for you.
9) Click the large orange 'Click here' link when you’re done – and that’s all folks |

| Keep up to date on international news stories related to travelling. The flag next to the news headline lets you know the nationality of the story. To view the full story click on the headline, a new page will load containing the news story. |

| Logging in help |
In order to access the member only areas of the site you need to sign in. To do this you need to go to ‘My C2T’ where you are required to enter your username and password in the spaces provided. Once you have typed in your sign in details click on ‘sign in’.
Providing your username and password are accepted you will be taken to ‘My C2T’.
If you cannot remember your password follow the link on the sign in page to have it sent to you by e-mail.
If you cannot remember either your username or password follow the link on the sign in page and a member of the C2T Team will get back in touch with you.
If you would like the system to remember your details for the next time you sign in, tick the ‘remember me’ box. If you are using a public computer such as one in a local library remember to make sure that the ‘remember me’ box is unticked to retain your privacy and make sure no-one can sign in to your account. (This option requires that cookies are enabled on your PC.)
The first time you sign in, please navigate to the ‘my profile’ page where you can add more details about your preferences. This is so that the site can work to its full potential for you. You can get to your ‘my profile’ page by either clicking on the ‘my details’ icon in the orange menu bar or by clicking on the text link underneath the My C2T tab.

| Mail Archive |
You can now see all the e-mails you have sent and received through C2T’s mail system.
- Your link to the ‘MY Mail’ can be found on your ‘My C2T’, on the left hand side of the page, under ‘My Profile’.
- Once you have opened the page you will see two columns of e-mail messages.
- The first column is the ‘inbox’ or messages you have received from other members of C2T. For each message you will see who it is from, along with the date. Under this will be a small section of the message from your potential travel companion if they are a Full Member and a blank if they are a Trial Member (Trial Members cannot send written e-mails, only Notifications of Interest To display the full email then click on the
link next to the required email. Below this you will see links that you can click onto view their details, Add to address book, Archive Mail and send a message back. Along side each message you will also see a closed envelope if an email is yet to be read by you, or a open envelope if an email has been read by you.
- The second column is the ‘sent items’ or e-mails that you have sent to other members of C2T. For each message you will see who you sent a message to, along with the date. Under this will be a small section of the message to your potential travel companion if you are a Full Member and a blank if you are a Trial Member (Trial Members cannot send written e-mails, only Notifications of Interest). To display the full email then click on the
link next to the required email. Below this you will see links that you can click onto view their details, Add to address book, Archive Mail and send a message back.
- The My Mail section also allows you to Archive mail in your Inbox and Sent Items so that it is easier for you to see what’s going on. To do this just find the email you want to archive and click the
Archive button.
- If you want to ‘Un Archive’ an email then just go to
My Mail Archive and click on the Un Archive button and it will be sent back to you’re my Mail page.
- There is also the ability for you to search both your Inbox and Sent Items, just put in a keyword or phrase in the box and click the ‘Search’ button, All emails found using those keywords/phrase will then be displayed.
