How do I contact potential travel companions and how do they contact me? |

The only legitimate way of making contact with a potential companion found on the Companions 2 Travel site is for you to enter a message which we will send on your behalf through the C2T email system. The email sent will NOT include your email address. The email will contain a link to your ‘Member Detail’ page so that the recipient can find out more about you and respond using the same method.
The ‘Member Detail’ page contains a link to email you. This means by sending a contact message, you are NOT disclosing your email address. |

How do I join? |

Simply click on the 'Join now' tab at the top of the screen. You can join us for free as a trial member (although some membership features will be unavailable to you) or you can join as a full member for as little as £5. |

How do I use my membership? |

Upon receipt of your membership application (and receipt of your payment if joining as a full member), you will be sent your username and password by email to the address that you provided when you completed the Join Now form. This email will contain a link to activate your membership. You MUST activate your membership in order to sign in for the first time.
After activating, simply go to the 'My C2T' area on the site, enter your user name and password as provided and click on the 'Sign In' button. |

How many travel companion matches per month can I expect? |

The more pro active you are in the community the more potential travel companions will become available to you.
Some members are into double figures in terms of the number of holidays they have taken with other members.
Ensure that you make your profile as detailed as possible. The better it looks the more likely you are to find a companion. |

How should I try and meet potential travel companions? Is it safe?

The first thing to do is to use the companion search/match systems and the message boards in the site to find potential travel companions. Once you have found someone suitable, make contact with them via the secure in site email system or via a more public message board. You will find lots of friendly helpful people in the site, many of whom will have felt similar emotions and reservations to yours - ask them for their advice in the message boards.
We advise that you do not provide personal contact details (email address, tel number etc) or any other personal information until you have corresponded via that site a few times.
Perhaps then a phone call may be in order.
When you decide that you want to meet up, we suggest that you arrange to meet in a public place, possibly accompanied, and do let someone else know where you are going and when you expect to be back.
Basically, use your common sense and your intuition. If you do not feel comfortable about meeting in person when it comes to it then follow your instincts - don't.
If you would rather meet up in group then why not attend one of the various member and C2T organised conventions and activity weekends that occur all over the UK?
Do not be put off by this advice....thousands of trips/holidays have been taken by members of our community without any hitches at all. Be relaxed and enjoy yourself.
If you are doubtful about how to proceed then post a question in the message boards and plenty of members will offer you their support, advice and benefit of their experiences.

You can e-mail us on contact@companions2travel.co.uk or call us on 0870 242 2335. We'll try to deal with your enquiry as quickly and helpfully as possible. We don't like websites where enquiry e-mails disappear into a black hole and we don't intend to operate in that manner. |
